This weekend has been a blur of surreal links and numbers. The success of our online release of the full Red Moon film has left us all giddy and surprised and motivated.

We received press from three large and loud publications — BoingBoing, io9 and The Huffington Post — all amounting to over 18,500 views and counting in one little weekend. Pure magic, that internet is.

This is just the beginning.

We are oh-so excited to announce the launch of our music video for “Carolina Days” by Megafaun on Pitchfork TV.

Thank you, Megafaun and Hometapes for trusting us to collaborate with you and thank you Pitchfork for helping push this cool thing our friends have helped us make out to the world. We have surprised ourselves with how much we love this piece and that most certainly is a testament to finding really amazing partners. We can only hope this is the beginning to many big projects to come with Hometapes.

Thank you again and again to all of our amazing friends who helped us pull off yet another adventurous music video shoot. Music Video Month is near complete and we can only begin to describe to you how amazing this all is revealing itself to be.

Our new music video we produced with Hometapes records for the band Megafaun will be out soon. Expect lots of taxidermy, making out, pastel togas and prehistoric landscapes.

Red Moon and Cleo Making the Rounds

What has often felt like a dream to us — and certainly seems to be a stretch of the imagination for anyone we tell — is about to become very really all over the place.

We have been busy the last few months planning screening tours and film festival entries for our two short films, Cleo in The Universe and Red Moon.

Portland, OR — Wednesday, 17-Nov 7pm @ The Living Room Theaters

Los Angeles, CA — Saturday 20-Nov @ The Hang Zone, Sirocco Research Labs. Details TBD.

Chicago, IL — A holiday season soiree is in the works with our buddies from Jettison Quarterly. Details TBD.

Come out, have a drink, meet a few Sirocco Lab members, enjoy two absolutely delightful films. We promise to have something interesting to say.

Uniforms

After the days of t-ball and varsity sweaters, the only real hope adult life gives for the possibility of uniforms is the slim chance you’ll become a Red Bull Girl or a member of a cult or perhaps a fireman. Lucky for Sirocco, our friendship is so thick we all have this natural craving to dress alike. Somewhere along the way we all began falling in love with our “uniforms.”

It began with simple necklace medallions made from duct tape and nickles on the set of Cleo in the Universe.

Next, three of us went for a day trip to Le Brea Tar Pits and insisted on matching pink tank tops.

Stripes for Fourth of July, 2010.

And most recently, our customized neon striped, hand sewn tank tops for our camping trip to the place M*A*S*H was filmed.

We are easy to find in a crowd, some say.
